The week of May 13th was rich in events, beneficiaries and guests for IREX Europe’s Strengthening Independent Media and Media Literacy in Moldova Project.
The week started with a second Media and Information Literacy (MIL) training of trainers for librarians. After the first MIL ToT held in March, 30 participants had one month and a half to prove that they are interested in becoming MIL ambassadors in their community by organizing up to 4 MIL events of their own, for their local community. The response has been extremely positive and together they’ve managed to train over 1600 people, through 100 trainings. Dozens of trainings and MIL events are still taking place and the final number will rise.
Alexandra Onica from Drasliceni, Chisinau organized a MIL training session in her garden targeting her extended family. She was so inspired after the first MIL ToT that she ran a training for her family during the Easter Holidays.
