As part of a larger EU funded programme of support promoting youth civic participation and increased media engagement with youth, IREX Europe and local partner Youth Media Centre ran two public discussions for young people in Moldova’s regions.
The discussions followed a Media Tour Living Eco-Eating Organic which looked at the growing popularity of organic food and resulted in the production of a number of media products on the subject. They also built on our work with local media, where we’re promoting youth engagement with media and the media’s production of youth focused content.
In Drochia local youth from two high schools attended a public discussion that included healthy eating tips as well as an exercise session. 33 students attended the event on the 25thof April. A TV report on organic food and healthy living produced in collaboration with youth under our project “Youth in Action” was used as a springboard to the discussion.

The second event was in Chisinau, and as the sun was shining it was held outdoors. As the video shows moderator and nutritionist Neonelia Gutu showed the youth how to cook tasty and healthy food and did it whilst dancing. Fitness trainers from NeoGym followed the cooking – and tasting – session with a workout routine for all.
