Strengthening Independent Media and Media Literacy in Moldova (SIMML) Strengthening Independent Media and Media Literacy in Moldova (SIMML) IREX Europe’s SIMML project has worked since October 2014 to promote increased media literacy in Moldova and to increase access to fair and unbiased information on key national and international issues. The lack of a critical approach to the media and a lack of general media literacy leaves the population vulnerable to the influence of Moldovan and external media influences and the dangers of misinformation and fake news.
