Albanian LGBT organisations are set to launch a « unity through diversity » campaign, promoting tolerance and acceptance of the LGBTI community as well as self-acceptance and self-love amongst LGBTI people.
Another key milestone has been reached in building the capacities of our Albanian LGBT partners Alliance against Discrimination LGBT (Aleanca), PRO LGBT and Streha Shelter. With support from the European Delegation in Albania through our PRIDE project, the three organisations were given capacity building training in how to develop successful awareness raising campaigns, as well as on communication and digital media.
The trainings focused on; “what is public campaigning?”; “how to define your target audience?”; “how to develop successful messages?”; “how to test and measure a campaign’s impact?”. They also developed a communication plan and looked at the importance of digital media for communication.
The three organisations have now come to launch a positive role campaign “Unity through diversity”, which will use positive examples of members of the LGBTI community, or friends of the LGBTI community, profiling their success in business, sports and culture. The campaign aims to target LGBTI people directly as well as Family, parents, friends and peers.
The capacity building training was facilitated by ERA – LGBTI Equal Rights Association for the Western Balkans and Turkey with the support of Campaign Expert Brian Silva from the National Equality Action Team (NEAT).
IREX Europe’s support to help strengthen our partner LGBT organisations in Albania is financed under the PRIDE project thanks to the support of the European Union.
